Nor did the food standard justify the high prices, 14 i was charged for a basic pizza , not toppings, 8-10 euros is the average price of a pizza in assisi and that's with cheese and variety of toppings, I ordered a basic pizza no cheese only tomato and an ingenerous amount of sliced zuchini and only 3 tiny pices of chopped pepper they served me, yet they had the audacity to charge 10 euro plus a supplement charge for the gluten free base though it was well cooked hard not a pleasant texture nor tasty and it has also caused me a reaction, itchy on my hands on my face, irritation since eating it so how can i be sure it was GF what they served me ! I feel irrated in my gut also the way I would if I eat wheat gluten , so not worth it and the discomfort and unpleasant attitude of the sraff, i feel cheated as i say no hospitality and they also added an extra 2 euro for cover charge again none of this clearly stated in the menu, I unwittingly bought it not imagining there would be all these hidden costs , what a con , there are so many lovely places to eat with kind smiling staff who accommodate and don't rip you off , avoid

It's always nice to be greeted with "thanks for returning". I'm always there for lunch during my 2 week stay in Assisi (part of an international music festival). I've pretty much tried the menu. Sorry, haven't found anything I wouldn't recommend above anything on the menu. It's all tasty and beautifully presented. If I did have to make a specific recommendation it would be to sit outside if possible. I've eaten inside and I have no complaints - I just find the little patio special.

When the waiter took our plates he muttered the usual ‘tutto bene?’ to which I replied in Italian that it was average at best. He just shrugged and walked off. We had to pay on the way out and we were kept waiting as the manager argued with another guest who was complaining. Eventually I was asked gruffly for my table number and a bill then thrown at me. It’s not good enough for spoilt restaurateurs to treat the tourists in this way but unfortunately it’s all too common.
